Curriculum

During the program, you will work with a variety of programming languages and tools including Python, R, TensorFlow, Spark, Hadoop, and MapReduce. You’ll also learn the statistical and math skills, as well as techniques for storytelling and data visualization, that you need to do excellent work.

As an intensive graduate-level program, the MS in Data Science is best for students with a background in computer science, mathematics, or statistics, and a desire to combine the skills of these fields. You should be proficient in calculus and linear algebra, and have some programming and database experience.

    • A personal statement explaining to the Graduate Admission Committee why you would like to pursue the program of graduate study you have chosen. Additional information regarding your academic performance, as well as professional experience, may also be included in the supplement.
    • A resume or outline describing at least the past five years of your employment history and any significant community, professional, or college extracurricular activities.
    • Two letters of recommendation are optional, but strongly recommended. If you choose to submit letters of recommendation in support of your application, letters should be from academic or professional references who can knowledgeably comment on your ability to successfully complete graduate study. Please note that the Graduate Admission Committee reserves the right to require letters of recommendation on a case by case basis.
    • All Official Transcripts: Transcripts from every accredited college or university attended (not just the degree granting institution) must be sent either to ÎÞÂëרÇø, directly from the academic institution electronically or by mail, or forwarded by the applicant in sealed envelopes from the academic institution.
